Satan’s Secre…

Satan’s Secret Weapon
Satan has a secret weapon that he uses on just about everyone at some point. This weapon is so effective because it is secret! This weapon keeps people from open fellowship with God and often times alienates it’s victims from friends and family. The weapon is Shame!
According to Wikipedia: The roots of the word shame are thought to derive from an older word meaning to cover; as such, covering oneself, literally or figuratively, is a natural expression of shame.
Shame is the enemy’s tool, used to isolate, discourage, and falsely accuse. Often times shame stems from actions or decisions we’ve More >
To each her own journey…
Nov 30th
Thinking back on my own journey with God, I see how much I’ve changed. I can look back and remember various lessons I had to learn, how I approached them, the mistakes I made, and the ones I didn’t. I’m certain there were many times that others around me thought, “What’s she doing now? Why is she doing xyz differently this year? Why isn’t she doing xyz like the rest of us?”, etc.
As I look around at friends that are traveling their own road with the Lord, I realize that He convicts each of us differently, at different times, even More >
Accept the gift already!
Nov 22nd
I was in line at the store last week and I could over hear the ladies behind me arguing over who would pay! “No, I owe you. Remember, you bought my coffee last week,” said one lady. “No, no, that was a my treat, you don’t owe me – let me pay for my stuff today,” replied her friend. And it literally went on until they reached the register.
I was laughing to myself though because I do the exact same thing! I was thinking about how much easier it would be if we’d all just learn to accept a gift! More >
Is Dr. House right about parents?
Nov 16th
I love the tv show House. Yes, he’s crazy, but we’ve been watching it so long that I think we’re hooked now.
Dr. House’s fix on last nights show was that all parents screw up their kids and all people are screwed up! The entire show he was trying to prove his theory by getting everyone to admit how awful their parents were. He assumes that all parents either abuse, neglect, or in some other way complete mess up their kids. Scary thought!
This would be so true if we didn’t have a Heavenly Father that could make all our “wrongs” right again! My More >
Fear-Driven?
Nov 16th
If someone asked you if you were driven by fear you’d probably say “No!?” But when you stop to consider what’s truly behind your insecurities, desire to control, and inability to fully trust God with your daily life – you’ll discover you are… Fear-Driven!
I don’t like it either, after all, the last thing I want to consider part of my life is fear. I’m an independent woman, one that likes to plan and organize (i.e. control). I’d like people to consider me a brave woman and faithful follower of Christ. However, the more I look at myself, the more I More >
Need new light fixtures?
Nov 10th
The right lighting makes all the difference in a home! After all, no body likes a dark, drab room. The right lighting can accent the room and the pieces in it and set the tone for energy and joy!
I love beautiful lighting! One designer trick I learned was to have lots of lamps turned on when welcoming guests. It creates a warmth and welcome atmosphere! Aw… the power of illumination:)
Light brings forth truth in our spiritual homes as well! Bringing forth things from the darkness and into the light allows for greater energy and joy w/in YOU! Keeping burdens in the darkness More >
The Facade
Oct 25th
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Sam 16:7
During the restoration process many buildings will be refaced or updated. The facade, or exterior of the building, says alot about what’s to be expected on the inside. However, it can also be deceiving!
Say you walk up to a beautiful building, nice stone exterior, landscaped yard, etc. However, the interior is falling apart. The sinks More >
To date, or not to date… that is his question!
Oct 14th
Marriage and Courting restored!
My 16 yr old son is for the “not to date” position at this time. However, most everyone we know is for dating. It’s become the latest growth and challenge area for us as parents!
Purity is a different topic and one that’s been well publicized, but courting is more of an untold story. Most people think of courting as something Mormons or Amish do. They imagine high-neck clothing and parental stares! This doesn’t have to be the case. Yes, some people do observe courting in this strict manner but that’s not what we are teaching at this point. But, why are More >
