Fear-Driven?
Nov 16th
If someone asked you if you were driven by fear you’d probably say “No!?” But when you stop to consider what’s truly behind your insecurities, desire to control, and inability to fully trust God with your daily life – you’ll discover you are… Fear-Driven!
I don’t like it either, after all, the last thing I want to consider part of my life is fear. I’m an independent woman, one that likes to plan and organize (i.e. control). I’d like people to consider me a brave woman and faithful follower of Christ. However, the more I look at myself, the more I More >
The Foundation
Oct 6th
No matter the size of the structure, the foundation is critical to the quality and longevity of the building.
It’s critical for us to think of our foundation. How was it formed? Should it be repaired? Does it need to be dug up and repoured?
Unfortunately, many of us weren’t raised with a strong spiritual foundation. Maybe your parents didn’t attend church or teach you of Jesus. Maybe you did go to church, but really never experienced Jesus as your Savior. Or possibly, you’re like me, and you learned about Jesus, accepted Him as your Savior, and still found your self wondering More >
SHAKING IT UP!
Apr 21st
I want to let you in on a secret: things are changing around here!
You may remember when I first established the ministry eighteen months ago it was born out of my desire to encourage women in their faith as they faced their own life struggles. In fact, the foundational verse of Comfort & Compassion Ministry (CCM) was 2 Corinthians 1:3-4,
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the More >
IT’S YOUR CHOICE
Dec 9th
Does this prayer sound familiar to you?
Lord, I can’t take anymore. I’m shattered. I have nothing else in this world but You. I’m begging you to stop this pain and heartache. Please help me.
For three years I pleaded with God to change my circumstances. Ironically, with each desperate cry my suffering escalated: the pain worsened, my health deteriorated, and the isolation intensified.
From the outside it seemed as though the Lord ignored my prayers. But, deep in my heart I knew the truth. As horrible as my life was, I was absolutely certain that the Sovereign God of Creation was More >
THANKSGIVING ISN’T OVER
Dec 2nd
Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, but I’m still thinking about all Jesus has done for me. Just over a year ago I was suffering horrible pain and could hardly walk. But in the span of one year, the Lord has transformed my life, yet again. As I lay in my bed last night, drifting off to sleep, I thought of all the blessings God has granted me:
- Physical relief–The most dramatic part of this year has been my restored health. The Lord has given me a break from the constant pain and has allowed me to walk again. I More >
MEDICINE, ANYONE?
Nov 10th
Ominously, the nurse walked into the room carrying a syringe. This time it wasn’t for me. It was for my youngest daughter sick with strep throat. Rather than struggle for the next seven days and coax her to swallow icky medicine, I opted for a one-time shot of penicillin.
However, she didn’t see the wisdom in that decision. As soon as she saw the needle, tears began to flow. I attempted to rationalize with her and prepare her for the shot, but it didn’t help. Hysterical crying ensued.
The worst moment arrived—the wrestling match. With terror in her eyes, my child fought More >

WHERE DO YOU TURN?
Oct 29th
Bad news. Whether it’s from a doctor, your spouse, or your good friend, we all hear words that take our breath away. No matter how well someone tempers the blow, bad news is like a sledgehammer bearing down on our temporarily perfect world.
What do you do when you receive an ominous report? Tell your husband? Call a friend? Post on Facebook?
How different our lives would be if we came to the Lord FIRST rather than last?
As we turn to God, the Comforter of our souls, we pray with the psalmist:
I lift up my eyes to the hills–where does my More >
